What Should I Do If I Can’t See my WAEC Result?
If you can’t see your waec result when checking, here are potential errors that are likely to have occured:
1. Incorrect PIN or Serial Number
One of the most common mistakes candidates make is entering the wrong PIN or serial number. These details are vital for accessing your WAEC results.
How to Fix It:
Always double-check your PIN and serial number before submitting them. Enter them exactly as they appear on your scratch card or e-PIN voucher. If you suspect they’re incorrect, the safest option is to buy a new e-PIN voucher.
2. Network Issues
Poor internet connection can make it difficult to check your results online—especially during peak periods when many candidates are trying at once.
How to Fix It:
Try checking during off-peak hours when the network is less busy. If your Wi-Fi is slow, switch to mobile data or another internet source. If it still doesn’t work, wait a few minutes and try again.

3. Using an Unsupported Network Provider for SMS
If you’re trying to check your results via SMS, note that only MTN, GLO, and Airtel are supported. Using any other network won’t work.
How to Fix It:
If you’re not on MTN, GLO, or Airtel, use the WAEC online portal instead. Alternatively, insert a supported SIM card temporarily to use the SMS method.
4. Incorrect Examination Number
Typing the wrong examination number will stop you from accessing your results.
How to Fix It:
Enter your examination number exactly as it appears on your exam slip. If you’re unsure, check your exam documents. If the problem persists, contact your school or WAEC for help.
5. Expired e-PIN
Every e-PIN or scratch card has a validity period. Once it expires, you can’t use it to check your results.
How to Fix It:
Confirm that your e-PIN is still valid before use. If it has expired, you’ll need to purchase a fresh one from an accredited seller.
6. Wrong WAEC Examination Type
Choosing the wrong exam type—like selecting “Private Candidate Results” instead of “School Candidate Results”—will prevent you from viewing your results.
How to Fix It:
Select the exam type that matches your registration. If you wrote the standard May/June school exams, choose “School Candidate Results.” If you sat privately, choose “Private Candidate Results.” When in doubt, check your exam slip or official documents.

Sometimes, the problem isn’t your PIN or internet—it’s your browser. An outdated or incompatible browser can cause issues on the WAEC results portal.
How to Fix It:
Switch to a different browser or update yours to the latest version. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge are good options. You can also clear your browser’s cache and cookies to improve compatibility.
