Does LASU Write Post UTME?
No, Lagos State University does not write post utme exams; rather, they conduct a screening for candidates. Candidates must also submit hard copies of their WAEC and JAMB results to the admission unit for further verification and possible admission.
LASU screening is based on a point-grading system using the UTME score and SSCE (or equivalent) grades in the 5 best-related subjects to the applicant’s course of study.
Here’s the grading point formula:
- A1 – 10
- B2 – 9
- B3 – 8
- C4 – 7
- C5 – 6
- C6 – 5
Your utme score is divided by 8 + Your O-level score to get your aggregate point. For instance, if you scored 230 in utme divided by 8 + your O level scores based on the grading points obtained from the 5 relevant subjects.
Conclusion
If your JAMB score is below 195, you are ineligible for LASU Post UTME screening. If you have met the LASU JAMB cutoff mark by scoring 195, you must meet additional requirements by achieving your WAEC or NECO to gain higher points and stand a better chance.
FAQs On LASU Cut Off Mark 2025
The JAMB cut-off mark is the minimum score LASU sets to qualify for post-UTME screening. The departmental cut-off mark, however, is specific to each course and determines your eligibility for admission into that department.
Unfortunately, scoring below the cut-off mark reduces your chances of gaining admission into LASU. However, you can explore other options, such as a change of course to one with a lower cut-off mark or consider admission through LASU’s pre-degree programs.
The Department of Medicine and Surgery expects candidates to score 195 and above to stand a chance.
